The Ezekiel Foundation
Our mission is to provide affordable housing opportunities to those in need and to uplift everyone along our journey, prioritizing the Gospel while providing for physical needs.
The purpose of The Ezekiel Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, is to provide affordable housing opportunities to those in need.
Ezekiel has been working for the past 19 years to ensure that people who need housing have a safe, clean, and affordable place to call home.
Our Story
God is at work all around us.
There is need all around us.
We have decided to join in God’s mission for helping those who need a place to live, a warm place, a safe place… A place to love and call their own… A place to laugh and make memories… A place to learn and study so that they may have a purpose in their life, and perhaps someday that same person might give back to their community and lead and live a generous life.
When studying God‘s Word and reading the book of Ezekiel, we learn of the perilous times and how God wanted His people to know that they could experience Him and find hope in their darkest hour, and the priest turned Prophet named Ezekiel, decided to join God in His mission.
In the book of Ezekiel 22:30, we know that God was very distraught for the people and their land, and he looked for someone to help Him for the needy, and He found no one. He wanted someone to stand in the gap for Him for His people. God’s glory calls us to give up our alibis, our substitutes for God, and to serve without pride and selfishness.
God‘s standards protect the poor and needy.
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land that I should not destroy it, but I found no one.”
Will you be the one who stands in the gap before God on behalf of the land for the poor and needy?
God welcomes and even commands human effort and participation, but His work and blessing are most important.
We invite you to join us in our work as servants, remembering what God has done for each of us.
Help us work where God is at work and to recognize that God is at work all around us, and that is His invitation to us, to help Him help others by serving and thus experience God.
To whom this may concern, My name is Kevin Doyle, my wife (Michele) and I was recently volunteering in Dawson Spring, KY due to the recent tornado damage. While volunteering, the local church asked us to pay a visit to a local low-income apartment community that no one had visited to see if the people there may need some assistance.
While visiting the apartment complex (Bellmont Apartments) I came across a mother and her two daughters that needed some help. The apartment complex that the family is living in was hit by the tornado pretty hard. On top of the tornado damage, the lady had just had surgery on her hand. When we knocked on the door, we were greeted by two small children, later we would learn that the children’s ages are 2 and 7. The children were very nice and quickly yelled for their mother. Once the mother answered the door we explained who we were and what we were doing. The lady gave us a list of items that they needed. Once my wife and I returned to the church, the church informed us that if we visited the local high school then we could shop (donations) for items for the family and other people that live in Bellmont.
While shopping I was greeted by a Mrs. Mary Anne Simmons (forgive my spelling) who gave me money for the families in need. She was accompanied by a man but I cannot recall his name. Mrs. Simmons was extremely friendly but would not let me take “no” for an answer. We talked for a few minutes and that’s when I learned about the Ezekiel Foundation. (A little back story) I am a retired Master Sergeant of 24 years with the U.S. Army and accepting cash from a stranger is not something that I have ever encountered before. To me, this was a genuine act of kindness.
I know that my facial expressions had to be out of this world because I am not the friendliest person to approach nor am I very trusting of strangers. However, Mrs. Simmons wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. She gave me $700 to help assist the families at Bellmont and was wanting to give me more for myself but I had to refuse. You see, God has blessed my wife and me, and by no means are we rich but we make do with what the good Lord has given us. When we returned to the families at Bellmont they were overjoyed by the donations and the lady with the two little girls broke down in tears. While delivering the donations the lady with the two little girls invited my wife and me into her apartment when I noticed that she had a Christmas Tree up with not a single present underneath the tree.
My heart sank into my chest the emotions that ran through me are indescribable. I quickly excused myself and retrieved the envelope with the cash. I handed the envelope to the 2-year-old little girl and asked her to place it on the Christmas tree. The mother assisted her daughter and that’s when I noticed the tears running down the mother’s face. As an old Soldier, I don’t handle emotional situations very well and was quickly trying to excuse myself from the apartment when the little girl reached out her arms and wanted to hug me. I looked to the mother for guidance, she shook her head in confirmation and I scooped up the child for one of the warmest embraces I have had in a very long time from such a small child. I want to sincerely thank your organization for everything you have done in assisting the families at the apartment complex.
Merry Christmas and may God bless you all.
